Effect of the Additives on Thermal Stability of Aluminium Titanate Ceramics with Low Thermal Expansion

XUE Ming jun *, SUN Cheng xu (1.College of Advanced Vocational Education ECUST, Shanghai 200237, China; 2.Department of Inorganic Materials ECUST)
Effect of the additives on thermal stability of aluminium titanate ceramics with low thermal expansion was investigated by calculation of their crystal constant and thermal decomposition. The results showed that thermal decomposition of the ceramics can be reduced by mullite with pressure and iron oxide with the formation of solid solution, and mixture of mullite and iron oxide was more effective than mullite.
