The dyeability of flax fabric improved by urea

The modification to flax fabric was carried out by treating it with urea to improve the dyeability of flax fabric. The influence of urea solution concentration, microwave power and microwave treatment time on the modification to flax fabric were studied. The reason of flax fabric dyeability improved was discussed based on the analysis of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction to flax fabric, and the tensile strength of modified flax fabric was also measured compared to parent flax fabric.
