Study on the problems in nursing continuing education in basic-level hospitals

Objective To explore the effective methods of nursing continuing education in basic-level hospitals.Method The method of questionnaire survey was used to investigate the status of nursing continuing education in 9 county hospitals in year 2004.(Results 49.81%) of the nurses finished all the credit hours.Compared with nursing managers,the qualified rate of credit hours and understand rate of related regulations for continuing education were lower in clinical nurses.The reasons include busy works,financing,lack of information restricted nurses' continuing education.Conclusion It is urgent to enhance nursing continuing education in basic-level hospitals,and the key points are to establish reasonable education plans,increase the financing for continuing education and create more learning means.
