Objective To explore the relationships between schizophrenia relapse with life events, level of insight, drug therapy compliance and social support,so as to provide evidence for preventing relapse. Methods 160 re-hospitalized inpatients due to schizophrenic relapse(observed group) were recruited and completed the Life Events Scale(LES),the Insight and Treatment Attitude Questionnaire(ITAQ),the Drug Therapy Compliance Questionnaire and the Social Support Assessment Scale(SSAS).86 out-patients without schizophrenic relapse(control group),who were discharged at the same time as the observed group after the first hospitalization, were selected as the coutrol group. Results ①The rate of life events, the number and score of the negative life events in the observed group were higher than those in the control group(P0.01).②The score of ITAQ,the total score of SSAS and subjective support score in the observed group were lower than those in the control group(P0.01).③The rate of compliance of drug therapy in the observed group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P0.01).Conclusions The schizophrenia relapse is more likely to occur when patients experience more life events, lower level of insight, poor therapeutic complicance and inadequate social support.
