Mathematical Model of Milling Temperature for Three-dimensional Groove Insert

GUO Qiang, TAN Guang-yu, DONG Li - hua, LI Zhen-jia (Mechanical & Power Engineering College, Harbin Univ. Sci. Tech., Harbin 150080, China)  
The temperature model of the waved-edge has been constructed according to Jaeger's theory of moving solid under the used temperature model of the flat insert, it is possible to forecast milling temperature through programming. The comparable experiments have been done between the two new three-dimensional groove inserts (waved-edge insert, great dege insert) and flat fake insert. The result is in good agreement with the experimental result, and it can be used for optimizing groove.
