Study on influence of family management and health education on rehabilitation of inpatients with schizophrenic

Objective To explore the influence of family-mode management and health education on the rehabilitation of inpatients with schizophrenia.Methods 50 schizophrenic patients in family-model ward(experimental group) received family-mode management and health education;Meanwhile,50 schizophrenic patients in closed ward were regarded as control group.They had been observed for 8 weeks.Brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS),insight and treatment attitude questionnaire(ITAQ),self-design questionnaire of satisfactory and comfort(QSC)and days of stay-in hospital were used to evaluated the patients' conditions.Results There were no significant differences in the scales of BPRS and ITAQ between two groups when they came into the hospital(P0.05).However,there were significant differences in the scales of BPRS and ITAQ between two groups after 8 weeks(P0.05 or P(0.01)).After staying in the hospital for 8 weeks,the result of QSC of patients in experimental group was better than that of patients in control group(P0.01),and the average days of stay-in hospital of experimental group was fewer than that of control group.Conclusions Family-mode management and health education in psychiatric ward can improve the rehabilitation of inpatients with schizophrenic.
