Vibration frequency analysis of spiral conveying mechanism for coal auger

Aimed at studying vibration characteristics of a spiral conveying mechanism for a coal auger,this paper describes the development of a vibration model of a spiral conveying mechanism by simplification and assumption,and a mathematical model of natural frequency and vibration mode according to principles of mechanical vibration,introduces fifth-order vibration modes obtained by using the MATLAB software,gives each order natural vibration mode and their changes,and offers an analysis of effects of structural parameters and kinematical parameters of a conveying mechanism to natural vibration frequencies.Results show that the vibration frequency of the mechanism decreases with increment of its length,diameter,helix angle and rotating speed,and increases with addition of helical vane thickness and outside diameter.The study is of some reference values for rationally designing structural parameters and kinematical parameters of a conveying mechanism and reducing vibration of the mechanism and a coal auger.
