Effect of propane on phase equilibrium of gas hydrate

An effective improvement in the thermodynamic conditions of phase equilibrium for the gas hydrate holds the key for the industrial application of hydrate-based technology.This paper introduces the efforts aimed at obtaining phase equilibrium conditions for four kinds of different gas mixtures using the visual hydrate phase equilibrium equipment,combined with the temperature search method and the direct observation method,and analyzes the effect of propane on phase equilibrium of gas hydrate.The results show that the addition of propane permits the hydrate structure to be changed from type Ⅰ to type Ⅱ;with the pressure experiment condition of 4.0~7.0 MPa,the gas hydrate phase equilibrium temperature is allowed to rise by as much as 13.7℃;and an increase in propane content produces a better improvement in the phase equilibrium condition.
