Performance of Progenies Derived from Crosses Using the Different Nelon Cultivar as Parent

The performance of F1 and its components were evaluated for 9 crosses using cultivars Tianshuai as male parents.The results showed that: The crosses of Gexinghuatai×Tiansghuai performed well and had high weight per melon,which were 234.1 g.Particularly,the cross of Jingpinbaitangmi×Tianshuai was more promising,in view of its high thickness of sarcocarp(1.8 cm) and the highest content of Vc,therefore,it could be considered as a type of cross with its progenies tending to have high quality.The crosses of YunmiNo.1×Tianshuai had high total solvent(15%) as well,and the cross of Gailianghuangjindao×Tianshuai had high ratio of sugar and acid.High quality genotype should be selected in these crosses for their further evaluation.At the same time,we could see that the crossbred of melon had the trait of preferring maternal inheritance.
