Study on the Surface Displayed Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Viral(PEDV) S1 on Lactic Acid Bacteria

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) causes acute diarrhea and dehydration in pigs and leads to death with a high mortality rate. To aid in the development of genetically engineered vaccine, the gene encoding its major immunodominant region S1 was amplified by PCR from pQE-S plasmid. The PCR products was cloned into E.coli and identified. After identification, recombinant plasmid was amplified, ligated into pLA vector and transformed into Lactobacillus casei. The relevant target protein was identified by using SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and Western blot. The result showed that S1 was expressed correctly in Lactobacillus casei.
