Progress of Molecular Breeding in Carnation

Carnation is one of the most important cut flowers in the world.Though the conventional breeding has made remarkable achievements in the genetic improvement of carnation,it does not satisfy the current production demand of fine carnation varieties.With the development of biological technology,molecular breeding has become an important research direction of carnation breeding.In this paper,research progress of carnation molecular breeding was summarized in recent years,and the problems and perspectives related to genetic engineering for molecular breeding of carnation were also elucidated briefly.
