Study on the Pollens Vitality of Maize

Shi Guirong (Maize Research Center, Heilongjiang Academy Of Agricultural Sciences)  
The maize pollen' s vitality of 10 inbred lines and 4 hybrids was assayed with nC method at different time within one day. The results showed that the vitality of both inbred lines' andhybrids' pollens reached peak time at 10 o' clock A. M., affer which, it was rapidly decreased.And the pollens had little vitality at 4 o' clock P. M. The results also showed that the differences of vitality among different inbride lines and among different hybrids were significant.
