Numerical simulation and diagnostic analysis of a regional snowstorm process in Spring in Hei Longjiang Province

Conventional observational data and the NCEP data and the simulation results of model-WRFV2.0 are used to simulate the process of an area snowstorm on March 21th to 23th in 2009 in the south-central region of Heilongjiang Province The results showed that: WRF model can make good simulation about the snowfall distribution.Further research on the physical output of the model found that: the southwest airflow in lower levels provides sufficient water vapor to this snowfall.Total helicity changes have the significant indication to changes of snow intensity.In this course of the snow,MPV2 is more important than MPV1.,which show that the strengthen of conditional symmetric instability is conducive to the formation of snowstorm.
