Comparative study on anti-tumor effects of three kinds of aloe polysaccharides in vitro

To study the anti-tumor effects in vitro of three kinds of Aloe polysaccharides (APs). Techniques of cell culture and the MTT assay were used to observe the inhibitory effects of three APs on Hela, K562 and A973 tumor cell lines under 7 different concentrations. With the increase of concentration, the inhibition rate of 3 APs to the three kinds of tumor cells increased. To the three different human tumor cells of Hela, K562 and A973, the IC50 of PAVL is 18340, 17026 and 15112 g/mL; the IC_(50) of PAAM is 19118, 12544 and 4901 g/mL; the IC_(50) of PAC is 7879, 13802 and 11448 g/mL. Under inverted microscope, it can also be observed that no evident morphological changes are found on the different tumor cells except the 200 and 400 g/mL groups of 3 APs. The three APs have not apparent inhibitory effects on Hela, K562 and A973 tumor cells in vitro.
