Determination of polysaccharide content and protein content in Lichong Shengsui Drink

To establish a method for the determination of polysaccharide and water- soluble protein in Lichong Shengsui Drink( LCSSD),the conversion factor of LCSSD polysaccharide to glucose was obtained with refined polysaccharide,and the content of LCSSD polysaccharide was determined by using phenol- sulfuric method. The content of protein was determined by using the dying method with Coomassie brilliant blue G- 250. The polysaccharide standard curve equation was A = 12. 839 C- 0. 008 5( r = 0. 999 3) and protein standard curve equation was A = 1. 271 0 C- 0. 033 1( r = 0. 999 2). Respectively the linear range was 0. 01 ~ 0. 1 g / L and 0. 1 ~ 1. 0 g / L. The content of polysaccharide was 8. 53%,and the content of protein was 0. 35%. The method is simple,fast,accurate and reproducible,and it should be helpful for the determination of polysaccharide and water- soluble proteins in LCSSD.
