Comparison on the photosynthetic physiological characteristics of Lonicera japonica varieties

With six varieties of Lonicera japonica as materials,the photosynthetic physiological properties of Lonicera japonica were studied using LI-6400 portable photosynthetic determination system.The results showed as following: In the six varieties of Lonicera japonica,the diurnal variation of the net photosynthetic rate(Pn) of the L.macranthoides "golden-green" tissue cultured plantlets,L.macranthoides "golden-green",L.macranthoides "silver-green",Jinfeng No.1 and Menghua No.6 showed"double-peak"curve,while that of common Lonicera macranthoides revealed "single-peak" one.The daily average of Pn of Lonicera japonica was the maximum in the flowering stage,with the medium one in the post-flowering stage,and the minimum in the pre-flowering stage.In different period,the daily average of Pn of the six varieties showed almost alike tendency,that L.macranthoides "golden-green" tissue cultured plantlets L.macranthoides "golden-green"L.macranthoides "silver-greenJinfeng No.1 Menghua No.6L.macranthoides.The diurnal changes of stomatal conductance(Gs) and transpiration rate(Tr) showed the tendency of synchronized changes,i.e.Gs and Tr were lower in the morning or at night,while occurred the peak value at 14:00.The daily average of water use efficiency(WUE) was the flowering stage the pre-flowering stage the post-flowering stage.The characteristics and quality of L.macranthoides "golden-green" tissue cultured plantlets were better than non-tissue cultured,so it was of greater significance to carry out the production of Lonicera japonica tissue cultured plantlets.
