Numerical analysis of migration test based on multi-species model

Migration tests are now commonly used to estimate the diffusion coefficients of cement-based materials.The transport of chloride in concrete is more complex because of the coupling influence between electric field and ions and ions each other.Various approaches have been proposed to analyze migration test results,however the process of the ions transport is still unclear.This paper proposes a multi-species model based on extended Nernst-Planck equations and electro-neutrality assumption.A simple algorithm is used to determine for each experiment the tortuosity factor that allows to best reproduce the current curve measured experimentally.The main advantage of this approach resides in the fact that the diffusion coefficients of all ionic species present in the system can be calculated using current density,whose test procedure is relatively simple.The voltage distribution,concentration distribution and transport number of all ions through the specimen are given,which give a deeply investigation into the mechanism of the ions transport in concrete.
