Experimental study on detecting compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete by ultrasonic-rebound method

For the application of recycled aggregate concrete in practical engineering,the quality control is a very important issue.Thus it is necessary to carry out researches on the non-destructive detecting method for recycled aggregate concrete.Experimental work was performed on the detecting compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete by ultrasonic-rebound method.The test results indicate that the pulse velocity and the rebound number of recycled aggregate concrete are lower than that of normal concrete with similar strength.The relationship between compressive strength and pulse velocity-rebound number for normal concrete cannot be used to recycled aggregate concrete.Based on the test results obtained in this research,the relationship of compressive strength and pulse velocity,the relationship between compressive strength and rebound number,and the relationship between compressive strength and pulse velocity-rebound number,were proposed.
