Relationship between Stress and Mental Health of the Nursing in Fuling District

Objective To know the work pressure on the nurses in the local district and further study the effect of the stress on nurses’ mental health. Methods 371 incumbent nurses were inquired by the random sample according to the list of the nurse work pressure and the list of SCL-90 self-estimate. Results The work pressure on the local nurses was ranked middling. The preceding order of the pressure in different wards was as follows: pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery. The level of the nurses’ mental health was lower than normal women. There was a close relationship between the work pressure and the mental health (P0.05). Conclusion The work pressure of the nurses was closely related with the mental health. It is very important to find the way to ease the pressure and improve the ability of self-comfort and self-defence.
