Deconstruction in the Faithfulness Principle——The Task of the Translator by Walter Benjamin

Zhang Lihong(School of Foreign Languages,Central-South University,Changsha,Hunan 410075,China)
The present paper intends to analyze and explain the specific theories of Benjamin in translation.Compared with the traditional translation theories of "faithfulness" and "equivalence",his views on translation have caused great effect on traditional translation standard and broadened our horizon on translation and its related problems. The author of the present paper tries to prove that it is impossible to get a definite and sole-accurate understanding and obedience to the writer and the original text and comes to the point that only an objective evaluation and judgment is feasible and should be emphasized in undertaking translation.
