Extraction and Purification in Production of Pectin from Orange Peel

The ion exchange resin (IER)has been used to investigate the influencing multifactors,pectin extraction technique from orange peel and pectin purification in this paper. As a result the optimal extrac tion condition is that the ratio of raw material to the added water keeps 30∶1 with 0.05 part IER(0.01 ×7)at 75℃,pH 2.0 for 90 minutes. The recovery ratio of pectin and its quality with IER treatment are superior to those with the acid extraction method. The quality indexes of the product reach or surpass those formulated in China's nation standard.
