The Mineralization Age of Mengyaa Lead-Zinc Deposit in Tibet and Its Geological Significance

LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of zircon from granite porphyry and ESR dating of quartz from galena-sphalerite ore are yielded age of 14.3±0.3 Ma(MSWD = 2.6) and(10.0±1.0 ~ 13.6±1.4) Ma,respectively,in Mengyaa lead-zinc deposit in the north of Gangdese metallogenic belt,Tibet.The similar of those two ages indicated that the the mineralization age of Mengyaa deposit is same to the forming time of Gangdese porphyry copper deposits,furthermore,Mengyaa is a typical skarn lead-zinc deposit as part of Gangdese porphyry-skarn ore-forming system in Miocene epoch.
