Yearlong changes of the meat condition index, water contents, and biochemical compositions of blood clam (Tegillarca granosa)

Yearlong changes of the meat condition index, water contents and Biochemical compositions of farmed blood clam (Tegillarca granosa) from Yueqing, Zhejiang province, were studied. The results showed: yearlong changes of the meat condition index and water contents of Tegillarca granosa were significant, yearlong changes of proteins, lipids, glycogen, and ash contents of Tegillarca granosa were very significant. We also found the meat condition index negatively correlated with water contents. The yearlong changes of the meat condition index, proteins, lipids, and glycogen correlated with the reproductive season.
