Novel Composite CVT Systems Featuring Power Split and Dual-mode Confluence

For eliminating common defects of existent continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), a novel type of composite CVT systems with power split/dual_mode confluence features is propounded. With specific mechano_mechanical and electro_mechanical composite CVT systems for normal and hybrid electric vehicles as detailed examples, working principles, general method and key points in design and realization of such systems are expatiated, analyzed and discussed. Their particularities and application prospects are thus revealed.
