Nonlinear Force Vibration of Piezoelectric Rectangular Thin Plate

By applying the double Fourier series as the shape mode of the piezoelectric thin plate, the Galerkin procedure and the multiple scale method, the exact solution of the non-linear forced vibration of transversely iso-tropic piezoelectric rectangular thin plates under simply supported boundary conditions and normal load is obtained. Numerical results show that the narrower the plate is, the smaller the amplitude of detuning and the amplitude of jump is, but the larger the unstable area of amplitude of load corresponds; the influence of load on the amplitude response is similar as those of isotropic plate; when other parameters are keeping in a certain value, the unstable area of amplitude of load is much wider if the amplitude of detuning is set at higher lever. The results also show that effects of the electric parameters on the amplitude response are much smaller than those of piezoelectric and dielectric parameters. The paper addresses some discussion about the effects of geometry and materials on the characteristics of amplitude response as well.
