DETERMINATION OF ELASTIC MODULUS OF STEEL CORD RUBBER COMPOSITES BY LASER SPECKLE TECHNIQUE

The belt layer of a radial tire made of steel cord and rubber is a kind of special composite in which the stiffness ratio of steel cord to rubber is so great that the accurate determination of its elastic modulus appears to be quite difficult.This paper deals by laser speckle technique with the principle and method to determine the elastic modulus of the special composite on the belt layer of a radial tire,together with the experimental results.
