Rice Strains Containing High Protein Obtained by Introducing Corn DNA into Rice

The total DNA extracted from Machihuang corn containing high protein was introduced into high quality early season indica rice 91 L.The stable lines of DH zao l,DH zao 5,DH zao 6,DH zao 8 and DH zao 9 containing high protein were selected from various offspring generations after the introduction. Frield experiments showed that high yield and high quality and strong resistance were inherieted by the selected lines.Quality analysis indicated that most of the quality indexes met the high quality rice standards issued by the Agricultural Ministry of China.Their average protein contents reached 13.65%.Among them,DH zao 9 had the highest protein contents of 14.9%.
