Inducing Variability of Rice Containing High Protein by Introducing Exogenous DNA into Rice

The protein contents in offspring generations of two rice varieties, 0146 and 91 264,were analyzed by introducing DNA of soybean,maize and corn into the two rice varieties in the way of presoaking.The results show that protein contents of offspring generations varies widely ,and individual plants containing high protein are separated ; the coefficients of variation of protein contents decreases, and protein contents tend to stabilize as the offspring generation increases. Studies indicate that variability of rice containing high protein can be induced by introducing exogenous DNA into rice.
