Relationship between Climatic Factors and Contents of Petroleum Ether Extracts and Polyphenol Compounds in Yunnan Tobacco

To study the aromatics contents,the change of aromatics substance contents in diffeernt planting areas and years,and its ecological physiological reasons,the geographical seeding method was applied to 7 selected tobacco planting areas of Yunnan during three successive years . The comparative research of the regional field experiments was carried out to study the relationship between the contents of petroleum ether extracts and polyphenol aromatics by using the same Yunnan flue cured tobacco variety. The results show that compared with the flue cured tobacco planted in North Carolina, USA, the contents of fat soluble aromatics in Yunnan tobacco leaves is obviously lower than that in North Carolina's.However, there is no obvious difference between them on the contents of polyphenol compounds. The major climatic factors influencing the contents of fat soluble aromatics in Yunnan flue cured tobacco are the total precipitation and the average illumination intensity per ten days during the tobacco field period. The former has a significant negative effect and the later has a positive effect.The average illumination intensity per ten days is the major climatic factor influencing the accumulation of polyphenol compounds in Yunnan flue cured tobacco.
