Analysis of the Status of Soil Fertility in Hunan Tobacco-growing Areas

The 2 320 soil samples from Hunan tobaccogrowing areas are analysed.Results indicate that content of soil nutrients show significant variation at different locations. The average contents are as follows: pH 6.5, organicmatter 35.4 g/kg,total N 2.05 g/kg,total P 0.75 g/kg,total K 14.7 g/kg,hydrolytic N 185.30 mg/kg,available P 19.70 mg/kg,available K 118.10 mg/kg,available Cu 3.10 mg/kg,available Fe 80.20 mg/kg,available Zn 2.08 mg/kg,available Mn 27.92 mg/kg,available B 0.20 mg/kg.Contents of available P and available B are low.It is suggested that controlling N, supplying P, increasing K, adding B and Mo, and rational application of lime to acid soil for balanced fertilization be paid attention in Hunan tobaccogrowing areas.
