THE THEORY OF ECOLOGICAL-GENETICAL STERILITY AND HYBRID CROP PRO-DUCED BY TWO-LINE METHOD

According to the fact that sterility of crop plant is affected by genetic and eco-logical factors,the theory of ecological- genetical sterility of plant is proposed.The theoryconsiders that the sterility of plant is the expression of sterile genes under certain ecologicalconditions,The sterile gene is either the genetic factor which hinders the development of maleorgans dirrectly,or some inheritancible property which needs some ecological condition fordeterming the development of male organs.The so called ecological conditions enclude tem-parature,light,water,nutrition and chemical substracts etc. and can be divided into naturaland artificial ecological factors.The large difference of tolerance to unfavourable ecologicalconditions between crop varieties is the basis of producing hybrid by using two-line method.
