Effects of Irrigation Methods on Photosynthetic Characteristics and Fruiting of Peach Trees

Peach cultivars Annongshuimi and Dajiubao were used for studying the effects of different irrigation methods on the photosynthetic characteristics and fruiting.Results showed that the rates of transpiration and photosynthesis in alternative irrigation(AI) and conventional irrigation(CI) were higher than those in no irrigation(ck).While the rates of transpiration and photosynthesis in AI was lower than that in CI,but the transpiration efficiency in AI was higher than that in CI.The yield and the average fruit weight(AFW) of CI and AI were significantly higher than those of ck.There was no obvious difference in fruit yield,AFW,SSC between AI and CI.Agricultural water use efficiency(WUEa) and irrigated water use efficiency(WUEi) in AI were higher than those in CI,showing that AI was a practical water-saving method in peach culture.
