Analysis of Peroxidase Isozymes between Filial Generation and Parents of Maize by Renaturation Electrophoresis

The differential expression of peroxidase isoenzymes between first filial generation of Louyu 23 and its parents in leaves,leaf sheaths,endosperms and roots of seedlings were analyzed with Renaturation electrophoresis.The results showed that the complementary enzyme bands from both parents were detected in the leaves,leaf sheaths,endosperms and roots of filial generation,which may be relevant to the heterosis expressed in filial generation.The POD zymograms were different in different organs.The order of total enzyme activity was rootsleavesleaf sheathsendosperms.Some common enzyme bands detected in endosperms were stronger in filial generation than in parents,indicating that the activities of these enzymes had additive effect in the course of inheritance.The high-resolution and distinct bands of POD Renaturation Electrophoresis provided an effective detection means for inheritance research and early-generation screening in cross breeding.
