Reactive power compensation and optimal control of power system considering wind power generation

Considering that wind power generation needs to absorb a lot of reactive power,which has influence on the distribution of reactive power and voltage stability,the system reactive power optimization containing wind farm is researched.In the condition of the operation of wind farm with constant power factor,the calculation method of reactive power compensation capacity in its parallel point is proposed.Under the premise of meeting the reactive power compensation,the reactive power optimization model is presented,in which the objective function is to minimize the sum of power loss,and the optimal solution is achieved by genetic algorithm.The validity and practicability of the proposed method are proved by an example of wind farm connected to IEEE-30-bus system.
