Basic Education Reform in Rural China

The backwardness of basic education in rural China hindered the country's balanced development in education,restricted the overall-planning development of urban and rural area as well.Solving problems of basic education in the rural area is believed to be the breakthrough to improve education in China.This is also the reason why four authors are invited here to show their ideas on the topic of basic education reform in rural China.Among the four authors,Prof.DU Yuhong believes that one could never know the real meaning of rural education unless developing a dynamic,multi-dimensional and comprehensive understanding towards the binary society;she also analyzes the trends of China's rural education in the time when the country is heading towards the group of the high-income countries.Prof.YUAN Guilin keenly realizes the subtle changes of the needs in rural basic education,and makes a deep analysis of rural education from the promotion force and resistance.Prof.GE Xinbin sorts and explores the "shortage of human resources and financial support" of the rural education in China.GE points out that the shortage is the crux of China's rural education and provides some suggestion on the solutions.Prof.WU Zhihui dissects from four aspects about the current bound of conventional system during the process of integrating urban and rural education.The countermeasures are also given respectively.Undoubtedly,finding the solutions to the problems of basic education in rural China is a long and arduous task.Only by taking the issue seriously and reflecting on it constantly can the rural education in China come up with a bright future.
