STUDIES ON RHIZOCTONIA SOLANI KUHN IN CHINA

The authors tried to divied the isolates of Rhiaoctonia solani in China into certaihgroups by hyphal fusion. Anastomosis phenomena among 156 isolates of R. solani (Thanatephorus cucuneris) indicated that 147 isolates fell into one of 5 anastomosis groups (ZAG--1,ZAG--2, ZAG--4, ZAG--5, ZAG--8) and 9 isolates were not assigned any one of groups.Hyphal fusion was odserved between the representative isolates in China and 21 isolates from8 anastomosis groups that were reported by Parmeter (1969) in America and Ogoshi (1972) inJapan. The results showed that ZAG--1, ZAG--2, ZAG--4 and ZAG--5 of China wereidentical with that AG--1, AG--2, AG--4 and AG--5 of America and Japan.
