PROTECTIVE EFFECTS OF ISCHEMIC PRECONDITIONINGON WARM ISCHEMIA/REPERFUSION INJURY OF RABBIT LUNG

wenty-four adult Japanese big-ear-rabbits were randomly divided into three groups,eightof each group.(1)The ischemic preconditioning group:The left pulmonary hilum was clampedfor 10 min and then released for 15min before it was continuously clamped for 60min and reper-fused for 60 min.(2)The control group:This was treated in the same way as the preconditioninggroup except having no preclamping and releasing for 10 min and 15 min respectively.(3)Thesham operatiOn group:It underwent thOractomy only.The results showed that the PaO2 and SODcontent were significantly higher in ischemic preconditioning and sham-operation groups than incontrol group( P 0.05).Even’s blue content and Wet/Dry weight rato of lung were signifi-cantly lower in ischemic preconditioning and sham-operation groups than in control group(P0.05).The ultrastructure damage of lung was more severe in control group than in ischemic pre-conditioning and sham operation groups.The results suggested that ischemic preconditioning ex-erts significant protective effects on lung ischemia/reperfusion injury.
