Effects of Modifying Gd-DTPA by Linear Chain Alkyl Group on Its Stability Constant and the Water Proton Relaxivity

Objective To investigate the effect of modifying Gd-DTPA by alkyl group on its stability and proton relaxivity of Gd-DTPA.Methods The stability constants of gadolinium chelates were determined by using a compitition method and water proton ralaxation times T1 were measured by means of the inversion recovery method.Results The stability constants of Gd-α-decyl-DTPA和 Gd-α-tetradecyl-DTPA(lg K)are 22.80 and 22.75 respectively,the water proton relaxivities of Gd-α-decyl-DTPA和 Gd-α-tetradecyl-DTPA(R1) are 4.86和4.78 respectively in the physiological condition.Conclusion Gd-α-decyl-DTPA和 Gd-α-tetradecyl-DTPA still maintain the high stability and strong water proton relaxivity by comparision with the parent compound(Gd-DTPA).
