TAN Yanxian,WU Ruixiang (Hunan Institute of Metallurgy and Materials, Changsha 410014,Hunan)  
According to visual examination, chemical analysis, metallographic examination it is concluded that the main reason of the bursting failure of boiler pipes is overheat which caused hightemperature creep of the boiler pipes. The second reason is the boiler pipes hightemperature Hydrogen attack. The metallurgical defects of the boiler pipes will acceralate its bursting failure.
