Influences of cinnamic acid and α-interferon on the telomerase activity and p53 expression

Objective: To investigate the influences of cinnamic acid(CINN) and α interferon(α IFN)on the telomerase activity and p53 expression in the human lung adenocarcioma cell line (A 549 ).Methods: The human lung adeocarcinoma cell line(A 549 ) was treated respectively with A,B and C of groups ①2 mmol/L CINN (A group),②2 mmol/LCINN+35 μg/L IFNα(B group),③ 2 mmol/L CINN+75 μg/L α IFN(C group).P53 expression and the telomerase activity was determianed with immunohistochemisty and the non radioactive method (silver stainig method) in the course of differentiation in A 549 cells Results: Both p53 expression and the telomerase activity were signitcantly decreased in the A 549 cell line treated with α IFN and/or CINN.Conclusion: α IFN and/or CINN could inhibit the telomerase activity and the p53 expression of A 549 cells.
