The Relation Between the Change of Blood Lipid Levels and Type 2 Diabetic Nephropathy

【Objective】To investigate the relation between the change of blood lipids and type 2 diabetic nephropathy.【Methods】There were 273 diabetes mellitus patients in our department from 2001 to 2004.There were 141 cases of diabetes mellitus without nephropathy,51 cases with early stage diabetic nephropathy,46 cases with diabetic nephropathy and overt proteinuria,35 cases with end-stage diabetic nephropathy.Serum level of their lipids,blood sugar,urine albumin,serum creatinine,and insulin urea nitrogen were monitored and their levels were compared in the four groups.【Results】The level of serum TG,TC,LP(α),LDL-C,ox-LDL,HbA1c,FPG,FINS were significantly increased and HDL-C was decreased in the three groups of diabetic nephropathy,There was significant difference between the group of diabetes mellitus without nephropathy and the three groups with diabetic nephropathy(P0.05).The concentrations of blood LP(α),LDL-C,ox-LDL were significantly higher in the three groups with diabetic nephropathy than in the group of diabetes mellitus without nephropathy,and the levels were obviously increased with the development of the diabetic nephropathy in the three different stages of diabetic nephropathy(P0.05).【Conclusion】Disorder of lipid metabolism is a risk factor of diabetic nephropathy.Disorder of blood LP(α),LDL-C,ox-LDL metabolism may be independent risk factors of diabetic nephropathy.
