Objective To investigate the expressions and clinical significances ofα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)and β-catenin in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)in patients with bronchial asthma. Methods BALF was collected in 30 patients with bronchial asthma(asthma group)and 30 patients without asthma(control group)to identify and analyze the relative expressions of α-SMA and β-catenin by two-dimensional gelelectrophoresis technique and mass spectrometry. Results The expressions of α-SMA and β-catenin were significantly higher in asthma group((30.02±3.32),(36.21±4.56)μg/L)than those in control group((10.35±3.58),(12.41±2.64)μg/L)(P0.05).Conclusion The high expressions of α-SMA and β-catenin in BALF might be involved in the occurrence and development of bronchial asthma, and can be used as the early diagnostic indicators and targets for gene therapy of bronchial asthma.
