Using Genre-Based Teaching Approach and Schema Theory to Improve English Majors'Reading Abilities Effectively

Hu Yuying(Foreign Language Department, Hubei Normal University, Huangshi Hubei 435002)  
This paper tries to illustrate the advantages of using genre - based approach and schema theory to improve English majors'reading abilities effectively. The teaching model mentioned above is believed to be helpful for English majors to foster their habits of appreciating and recogninzing both the construction and the writing purpose of an article so as to quicken their reading speed and improve their reading comprehension.
