Research for structural damage identification of simply supported beam based on model match techniques

Mismatching between the degrees of freedoms(DOFS) of the measurement model and those of the finite element model is a difficult problem when damage detection technique is used to the actual project.Model reduction algorithms and modal expansion algorithms are the main methods to solve the problem.Through a numerical simulation of the simply supported beam element model,the damage identification of simply supported beam under the incomplete measurement information is realized by using mode shape rotation difference.The results show that by using Guyan reduction and modal expansion algorithms to match the DOFS are of high accuracy,which indicates that model reduction and modal expansion algorithms can apply to the damage identification of frame structure.
