Research on the Sediments Characteristics of the Tidal Zone between

Luju River and Duliujian River, Tanggu District, Tianjin City LIU Xianbin 1 ,2 ,ZHU Lin 1 , ZHANG Fu 2 ,LI Haiming 2 (1. Nankai University, Tianjin 300071, China; 2. Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin 300450, China )  
Thirty-six surface sediments in the tidal zone have been positioned and sampled, and the samples have been analyzed by the integrated method. The results show that the surface sediments in the tidal zone consist of muddy silt and fine sand, and they gradually become coarse grain from the shore to the subtidal zone. The surface sediment grains change from coarse to fine between Luju River and Duliujian River. The reason is that the outline of the shore changes the water current as a result of building the shore bathing beach. Vertically, the sediments are coarse at the bottom and fine at the upper part, because the coastal defense road has been built and the coastal line has retreated to the sea. These characters are closely related to the human activity and the change of hydrodynamic conditions.
