Demands analysis of IR detectors for space remote sensor

The definition of space optical remote sensing technology,the advantages of IR remote sensing which is different from VIS remote sensing,the developing status of IR remote sensor in domestic and oversea are introduced systematically in the paper.The demands of IR remote sensor in the application field of resource,ocean,environment,IR reconnaissance,missile early warning and the potential demands of special IR remote sensor in the future,such as hyper-spectral IR remote sensor,GEO IR remote sensor,are analyzed comprehensively.Based on the demands analysis of IR remote sensor in the future,demands of the IR detector,which is the key part of the space IR camera,for developing IR remote sensor in all remote sensing fields are proposed strategically through analyzing the specifications of all kinds of IR remote sensor and the technology gap between domestic and oversea.The suggestions for IR detector development in the future are presented.
