SIMULTANEOUS SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION FOR PHENOL, PYROCATECHOL, RESORCINOL AND HYDROQUINONE BY RADIAL BASIS FUNCTION NEURAL NETWORK

The four components system of phenol, pyrocatechol, resorcinol and hydroquinone was studied by spectrophotometry. Serious overlapping of the absorption peaks made it difficult to determine the four components simultaneously. The radial basis function network being used as the mathematical model, the content of the four components in water samples was determined with the recovery of 95.7%~109.2%.
