DETERMINATION OF PHENOL ANTIOXIDANTS BHA, BHT, TBHQ IN EDIBLE OIL BY CAPILLARY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

A new method was developed for the simultaneous determination of phenol antioxidants butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) in edible oil. The antioxidants in sample were extracted with petroleum ether, acetonitrile and the analysis column was HP-5. The recoveries of the three compositions were 82.8%-95.6%, and the relative standard deviation was 1.06%-3.11%. The detection limits of BHA, BHT and TBHQ were 5, 10 and 5 ng, respectively. The method was simple, efficient and accurate.
