Effects of hot water sealing on corrosion resistance of anodic films on Mg alloy

The anodic films formed on AD91 Mg alloy were prepared in 100g·L-1 borate,50g·L-1 aluminate and 30g·L-1 hydrate.The anodic voltage was 50V,the anodic time was 10min.The microstructure and corrosion resistance of the anodic films after being hot water sealed were investigated.The surface morphology and the corrosion resistance of the anodic films were studied by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and potentiodynamic polarization curves.The results showed that the anodic films were uniform,compact and smaller aperture when the temperature was 70℃ and the sealing time was 10min.The polarization curves observed that the corrosion potential was-0.582V,the self-corrosion current density was 4.586μA·cm-2 and the polarization resistance was 12926.1ohm·cm-2.
