Degradation of amoxicillin using calcium peroxide in Aqueous solution

On the basis of calcium salt method,the no membrane eggshell powder pretreated by sodium hydroxide solution was used to synthesize calcium peroxide. The purity of product was 68.59%,which was obtained by indirect iodometric method. X polycrystalline powder diffraction(XRD)and high resolution field emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM) were adopted to analyze product structure and composition. It was confirmed thatthe synthesized product was a mixture of calcium peroxide,and the crystals were mainly spindle-shaped and agglomerated with each other to form a hollow air bag. The self-made calcium peroxide was used in Amoxicillin degradation study. The amount of calcium peroxide,the degradation time and temperature were investigated by single factor experiment,and the chemical oxygen demand(COD) of different solutions were detected according to potassium dichromate method. The results showed that 1.5 g calcium peroxide was added into 0.1000 g·L~(-1) Amoxicillin aqueous solution to remove amoxicillin at 30℃ and reaction 30 min,the degradation rate was 71.33%.
